The Auerbach Artist Colony (AAC) is happy to announce that MARIN SERIES, a collaboration between Melissa Schaeffer and John C. Morris, has been selected to be on view in the Belvedere-Tiburon Library Founders Room from October 18th to November 18th, 2016.

The Opening Reception is October 18th from 6 to 8pm in the Founders Room.

In this new series, MARIN SERIES, by Light Artist Melissa Schaeffer, eleven photographic film transparencies cast the nature of Marin County as William Shakespeare’s women.  MARIN SERIES was photographed exclusively in Marin County by Melissa Schaeffer in September 2015.  John and Melissa collaborated on the concept, and John will be writing the exhibition text.

The Belvedere-Tiburon Library is a significant space because Charles E. Auerbach worked extensively to make the dream of it a reality.  His grandchildren have their names on the spines of books in the Children’s Room, just as John and Melissa have their hand prints imprinted on Heath tiles in the Belvedere Community Center, which Charles worked on as well.  Belvedere has been a creative center for Charles for almost 60 years.  He served as mayor twice.
